Results from Lake Nacodoches
Our second tournament is in the books. It was not a typical Lake Nacogdoches spring fishing day. It was tough to say the least. It was cold and cloudy almost all day. But when the sun would pop out the fish would bite. One of our new guests got one of those big girls to bite but left their check-it-stick and home and could not officially measure the 8 + pounder they caught. The rules are the rules but WOW, what a nice fish. They have their memories though. Then one of us was the victim of someone that should have never been pulling a trailer and got part of their front bumper pulled off in the parking lot at the ramp. (ME). What a dork he was. Oh well, that’s why we have insurance.
We had only 9 limits and unfortunately 5 zeros. We had no Super Bass this year. We paid 7 places and 1st and 2nd Big Bass. Johnny Faulkenberry II took 1st Big Bass with a 22” = 6.40 lbs. and Suzanne Harris took 2nd Big Bass with a 21.25”. 1st caught on a Beaver bait and 2nd on a Wacky Worm. We had a tie for 6th place between Barry Crowder and Ray McKinney III @ 75.25”, 5th place went to John Baker @ 79.5”, 4th to Andy McKinney @ 80.25”, 3rd to Kevin Phillips @ 82”, 2nd to Greg Baker @ 82.5” and our Champion for the day was Duane Jungerberg @ 85”. Most of the fish were caught on a variety of soft plastics and bladed jigs.
Lake Sam Rayburn is our next tournament. It is a Two-Day Team tournament on March 28th & 29th, 2020 with Greg Baker as our tournament director. I can’t wait to see everyone there.
Let’s have another good turnout. Paperwork will go out soon.
